THE LION SLEEPS TONIGHT (CALAIS GATE)
Loosely painted as a transcription of Hogarth's The Roast Beef of Old England and with a nod to his political paintings of the Election.
Oil on canvas 2017
The painting relates to the look on Boris Johnson's face after the historic decision to leave the E.U.
Many people at the time commented he didn't look a happy man... He more had the face of someone caught in the act of committing a heinous crime.
BLUEPRINT - HOW WE GOT HERE

And who do you think they be?
The butcher, the baker, the candlestick maker,
And all of them out to sea.
